Rules and Regulations for Forum and Messages

Rules and Regulations for Forum and Messages

Do note that wherever you go, there are always rules. Rules are not meant to make life difficult for users, but they are there to protect users. You are advised to read them carefully. Users who fail to comply with the rules have their accounts suspended and in extreme cases, banned.

In SGEduLab Forum, we have administrators and moderators to ensure that the forum is a safe and fun place to be in. They are here to protect you and ensure that everyone abides by the rules and regulations. They are differentiated from the normal users by the following images under their usernames:

By using SGEduLab Forum (http://sgedulab.com/index.php), you agree to the following rules and regulations:

  1. Respect each other.
You should respect one another and not attack fellow users using the forum or Private Message (PM). If you feel threatened, or think that someone has gone too far, please report the case to any moderators or administrators. Moderators and administrators will take relevant actions against offenders.
  2. Do not SPAM and posts consecutive posts.
SPAM stand for Short Pointless Annoying Message. Do not post messages that are less than 3 words in length.

Please do not post your own replies consecutively, one after the other. Instead, edit your earlier post if you need to add on something to your post. Moderators and administrators will warn offenders who post meaningless messages or consecutive posts.
  3. Do not digress.
Occasionally, users will digress from the topic, hence leading to confusion. Mild digression is acceptable, but total digression from the topic should be avoided. Moderators and administrators will check every topic, and will send an alert if users are starting to digress from the topic.
  4. Create threads in appropriate forum sections.
SGEduLab Forum is separated into different subforums that cater to different interests. Please create threads in the appropriate forum sections, and also check that no similar threads already exist.
  5. Do not abuse the Private Messaging system.
Private Messaging (PM) system is meant for users to send messages privately to other users. However, if someone is found to have abused the system by sending messages that are threatening or offensive, we will take severe actions against the offender.
  6. No vulgarities.
The majority of our forum users are aged between 12 and 17; hence topics and posts that contain abusive, obscene, vulgar, slanderous, hateful, threatening or sexually-oriented content should not be posted in the forum, and will be removed immediately without prior notice.
  7. Do not mess with the forum filter.
SGEduLab Forum filters out vulgarities, and substitutes them with asterisks. If you find that the word that you have entered has been filtered and censored, please do not modify the word in such a way as to make it appear in your post.
  8. No Advertising
Advertising is not allowed in the Forum. Should any advertiser wish to advertise in SGEduLab.com, please go to the “Advertising Program” Page for more information.
  9. English as International Language.
Your post should be made in English, because Singapore is a multi-racial country. All non-English posts and threads will be removed or locked immediately.
  10. We can change this anytime we like.
The rules of the Forum may change from time to time and will have retrospective effect without prior notice.
